Spotlight Webinar Proposal
The LHSN 2018 webinar series focused on antimicrobial stewardship (AMS) aims to provide expertise and a practical learning opportunity for hospital-based antimicrobial stewardship program leaders, AMS and antimicrobial resistance (AMR) policy influencers and health decision makers at large.
The webinar topic should focus on an innovative approach to hospital-based antimicrobial stewardship program (ASP) strategy, practice, resource, tool, or relevant initiatives (e.g. national or local policy influencing ASPs).
Areas of ASP innovation:
Structure of ASPs
Role and responsibilities of ASP members
Models of communication and collaboration
Model of patient or family involvement
Integration of information technology into program activities.
Effective use of IT
Education, mentorship or training initiatives
Frugal innovation towards improving behavior and decisions, surveillance and workforce development
Monitoring and surveillance
...any other areas welcomed!
The proposals should highlight:
Contextual factors leading to the innovative initiative in the local institution settings (i.e. culture, leadership, collaboration, structure, healthcare needs and/or other circumstances).
Barriers or challenges overcome by the novel initiative (e.g. resource limitations, lack of support, and cultural barriers)
Output, outcomes and impact in measurable terms, if possible. Evidence could be provided on improved communication, collaboration, economic, medical, technological outcomes, among others.
Scalability/transferability: Key conditions for successful adoption and adaption (consider health provider setting, culture, ASP configuration, ASP strategy, ward and institution-level conditions, national AMS strategy and policies)
Future Directions: Lessons to give other hospitals or policy influencers for improving their stewardship intiatives. Any expected improvements or changes to the novel practices moving forward.
Speakers: More than one speaker is encouraged, however not required.
Timing: A total of 1 hour and 30 minutes is generally the time allotted on the day of the event. Speakers generally provide a 35 minutes presentation, which is followed by a 15 minutes Q&A session facilitated by the LHSN lead. Overall, webinars last approximately 45 minutes. Webinars take place on Tuesday, Wednesday, or Thursday.
Past webinars are posted and made available on the LHSN past webinar webpage.
