In this webinar Joshua Symons - Leader of the Big Data and Analytical Unit within the Centre for Health Policy at Imperial College London - provides an introduction to the National Reporting and Learning System (NRLS) in the UK, as well as an overview of CareReport, an alternative system for patient safety reporting and learning. The CareReport takes an integrated systems approach to reporting and learning, and shows how leveraging modern technologies and human behavioural insights help address a real world need.
Durng the talk, Mr Symons explained how it addresses the current key issues within the NRLS. “A modern clinician must have a modern solution to assist them with the daunting task of ensuring patient safety. The CareReport app addresses the three major items required to complete a patient safety application: Mobility, Human Factors and Advanced Technology,” he said.
Joshua Symons currently leads the Big Data and Analytical Unit as
part of the Centre for Health Policy at St Marys Hospital, Imperial College London. His background is in high-throughput systems design and he has over 18 years’ professional experience in application design and systems architecture.
